Toddler Program

The toddler program offers full time care for children aged 18 months – 3 years. We provide small classroom sizes of 6 children in each room which creates a strong bond with the teacher and offer lots of one on one time. The teacher offers a caring and stimulating environment that helps promote physical, social, and emotional development. Classroom activities are designed to be easily accessible to promote independence and children are encouraged to choose from a wide variety of activities that will build upon developing our toddlers to become independent problem solvers and active learners. Toddlers are learning how to successfully interact with one another as they develop their language and social skills.

Preschool Program

The preschool program offers full time care for 15 children aged 3 years-5 years. Our classroom provides a stimulating environment, as teachers work to help your child meet all of their developmental goals. Our teachers encourage a wide variety of play to help your child develop. This includes materials and activities designed to promote problem solving skills, imagination, reading and writing, gross motor skills, discovery and communication and a sense of space and measurement. The preschool classroom explores our city with trips to Halifax Central Library, Maritime museum of the Atlantic, Museum of Natural History, Public Gardens, Art Gallery of Nova Scotia, parks and playgrounds.
With the preschool curriculum your child will thrive in an atmosphere that encourages academics, creativity, independence and social skills.

Testimonial

"After having our daughter in several childcare centres that were not a great fit for our family, we knew instantly walking into London St. and meeting the staff that this place was perfect and we've never looked back. We have now had two children spend their toddler and preschool years at London St. and it has become a second home. The staff are absolutely wonderful, they treat all the children as if they were their own, with kindness, respect and the utmost care. The small class sizes enable the children to truly form bonds with the teachers and other children. Whether it be science days, music and movement, yoga, language arts, baking or thousands of other activities, the children are presented with so many opportunities to learn and grow at their own pace. The additional outings for preschoolers (bus, ferry, museums, art gallery, playgrounds and more!) present new learning opportunities and not even the offering of pre-primary classes could pull us away from London St."
